My Comic Process
Part 3 - Arranging the panels in Photoshop
After digitally inking the image in Clip Studio Paint, I take the inked panel images back into Photoshop for final arrangement. After I duplicate the layers from the inked file into the template file, I turn each panel folder into a "smart layer," sort of a file within a file.
Since each panel is composed of several layers, I can go into each panel, editing the smart layer, and reposition elements, as needed.
After everything is positioned correctly, the next step is writing the comic, usually directly into word balloons and captions.
